CHEF Dine Around

FAQ

What is the CHEF Dine Around?

Dine Around is a long running local charitable CHEF event where you have dinner at the home of a member of the Croton community for a good cause! Proceeds from ticket sales go to the Croton Harmon Education Foundation, which supports innovation in our schools funding Teacher and Principal submitted grant requests

Do I need to be invited to someone’s house in advance?

No! You can buy tickets and you will be placed with one of our generous hosts. Much of the fun of Dine Around is making new friends in our community

Can I just host or join my friends?

Absolutely! Gather a group of friends who would want to combine a fun evening with contributing to a great cause - our local schools!

What is required of a host?

The menu you serve is entirely up to you! You should not feel that you need to offer a meal that is gourmet but given that guests are paying to attend, the meal should be memorable (e.g. one host did a pig roast one year). Wine, beer, or cocktails are typically offered. If anyone is interested in hosting a sober party, please let us know and we can offer that as an option

How long should the dinner be?

Entirely up to the host, but approximately 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. After that all hosts and guests are invited to the After Party. Your Dine Around ticket includes entrance and 1 free drink ticket

Is my ticket purchase tax deductible?

Yes! You will receive a letter from CHEF noting your contribution as a tax deduction

I’m not up for a dinner party this year. Is there somewhere I can make a donation?

Please find a link to our donation page here: https://www.crotonfoundation.org/take-action
