Meet our board members
The Croton Harmon Education Foundation is managed by a committee of dedicated parents and community members. Get to know a little about us below.
Ratna Bindra, Co-President
Ratna is a Director on Pfizer’s Corporate Responsibility team, focusing on how to
position and increase awareness of Pfizer’s work in global public health. Ratna has more than 20 years of marketing and communications experience in the pharmaceutical industry. She holds a BA in Political Science from Boston College and an MPA from NYU’s Wagner School in Health Policy and Non-Profit Management. Ratna is very excited to be a part of this important organization dedicated to promoting excellence in the Croton-Harmon schools. Ratna and her husband, Raja, moved to Croton in 2013 along with their two children.
Rachel Wimpee, Co-President
Rachel is a project director and historian of gender, culture, and philanthropy at the Rockefeller Archive Center in Sleepy Hollow. She holds a Ph.D. in French Literature and French Studies from New York University and taught language and the humanities for a decade. Rachel and her blogger husband Seth decided to move to Croton in 2009 for the community, creativity, and natural beauty, which they share with their two children.
Richard Eberhardt, Vice-president
Richard hold a BS in Computer Science and an MBA in management from Fordham University. He brings 20 years of Information Technology experience in higher education. He has experience with infrastructure design and deployment, project management, and organizational change management. Richard and his wife Lauren moved to Croton 10 years and they now have two children attending CET. He is excited to join Croton Harmon Education Foundation and is looking forward to help bring technology and innovation to the Croton schools.
Dorothy Sonnenburg, Treasurer
Dorothy graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Economics – Operations Research. She has over 20 years of experience in finance, HR and operations. Dorothy, her husband, Jeremy, and their three children have lived in Croton since 2005 and feel deeply connected to our wonderful community. Dorothy is thrilled to employ her skills and bring next-level thinking to our classrooms.
Genevieve Holcomb, Secretary
Genevieve holds a B.A. in English from Barnard College and has worked as a writer and editor in educational publishing. She moved to Croton in 2002 and enjoys raising three children—one in CET, one in PVC, and one in CHHS—in this vibrant and creative community. After working on and attending Croton Harmon Education Foundation events over the years, she looks forward to joining the board and learning more about its mission to support innovation in our schools.
Jacqui holds a BS in Business Management from Binghamton University, an MBA in Finance and Marketing from NYU and a certification as an executive coach from Columbia University. For 22 years, she worked at Bloomberg L.P in various roles including software developer, product manager, chief of staff, and security and risk manager. Recently she moved to Cigna where she directs User Experience and Business Optimization within Information Management. Jacqui and her husband, Matt, moved to Croton in 2010 with their two daughters who are currently attending PVC and CET. She looks forward to bringing her technical skills as well as her creative side to help Croton Harmon Education Foundation continue to promote excellence within our school district.
After graduating from Ithaca College with a film and photography degree, Sam moved to LA to work in the film industry. But being a native of Brooklyn, she missed the cold east coast winters and pushy New Yorkers and returned to the city to work in production, making commercials for several years. It was there she realized the perfect alchemy of her experience and passions — production and advertising — to become a creative recruiter, where she met her current partner, Lori. In 2001, Sam and Lori opened Sam & Lori Associates. Sam moved to Croton in June of 2011 with her husband and two young daughters. They now have three daughters, a yellow Labrador, a cat and chickens. She feels a deep connection and sense of community in Croton and want to use her skills to help raise awareness and funds to help the school district.
Marina Gokman is an award-winning Creative Director and Art Director with over 10 years of experience in advertising, graphic design and branding. She holds a BA in Psychology from Binghamton University. Marina has been a Croton resident since 2013 and has 2 young children in the Croton School District. She is thrilled to lend her design and communications expertise to help bring more innovative and creative programs to our schools.
Robyn has over 20 years of experience in Human Resources and holds a BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania. She has worked in various industries and is currently the Global Head of Human Resources at Tower Research Capital. Robyn and her husband, Andy, moved to Croton in 2008 and have two daughters who attend PVC. She is thrilled to serve on the Croton Harmon Education Foundation Board and leverage her managerial and organizational skills to help strengthen academic excellence throughout the school district.
Growing up in Queens, New York, Jessica fully appreciates the sense of community she feels here in Croton-on-Hudson. With three young children benefiting from our schools, she is excited to join the Croton Harmon Education Foundation board. A graduate of Binghamton University, Jessica has spent the bulk of her professional career as an account manager at strategic and graphic design agencies, managing the business between clients and the internal design team. In addition to some of the more industry-specific and task-oriented skills that come with that, Jessica easily connects with people and looks forward to working with the board, the schools, and the extended community.
Allison Lehr Samuels
Allison is on the faculty at the Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College in the area of Entrepreneurship and is a Field Mentor at the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship. She co-founded the college’s pop-up makerspace and is the Director of Baruch’s Center for Teaching and Learning. She has extensive experience working with faculty on curriculum design and developing faculty development workshops that foster interdisciplinary collaborations, as well as online and hybrid learning. She’s lived in Croton since 2009 with her husband and two children and welcomes the opportunity to work with the teachers and the community to build educationally rewarding experiences.
Michelle's work experience includes a number of positions in marketing and advertising at multi-media publishers like Conde Nast where she led the digital marketing efforts of The New Yorker, Wired, and Vanity Fair. Most recently she has worked as an independent marketing consultant and served on the executive boards of the Croton Free Library, J-Baby and Young Judea's Camp Sprout Westchester. After growing up in Croton, Michelle recieved her BA from Brandeis University and her MBA farther afield at the University of Southern California before coming full circle and settling in Croton with her husband, Jim Kramer and her two children, Max and Madeline.
Pam Gordy is Senior Director of Sales at Carters, Inc. and has worked in the apparel industry since 2001, after earning a bachelors in consumer studies and apparel marketing from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. She moved to Croton in 2009. She and her husband, a psychologist, have two children. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York, she never thought she could adjust to living in suburbs, but she loves raising her family in Croton and is excited to support the community and school district.
Michelle has over 20 years experience working in public schools and is currently a social worker at Greenwich High School in Connecticut. She has a BA from William Smith College, a MSW from Boston University, an ED.M from Harvard University, and holds a certification in Educational Leadership from Sacred Heart University. Michelle grew up in Croton and attended all three Croton schools. She moved back to Croton with her husband in 2000 and together they have two daughters; one at PVC and one at CHHS. Michelle is extremely excited to be part of CHEF and is eager to bring innovation and continued success to the Croton schools.
